Dedicated To My Mother

(Daughter Speaking)
You carried me inside of you, and brought me into the world.
You cared for me and loved me too, then taught me to soar like a bird.
You gave good advice, dried my tears and kissed away my wounds.
You gave me good self-esteem, and set my goals high to shoot for the moon.

You are my loving mother.
You have a place in my heart like no other.
There’s a special bond that is there.
So deeply for you, I will always care.

You were very tough at times to raise, this is true.
You tried my patience through and through.
I knew all my efforts would be worth it in the end.
Look at the woman you’ve become….happened so fast, I don’t know when.

You are my loving daughter.
You have a place in my heart like no other.
There’s a special bond that is there.
So deeply for you, I will always care.

Now I am a mother, with my own beautiful daughters too,
And I understand everything that you went through.
You tried to do your best for your whole family,
And for us, you sacrificed your own needs.
Important life lessons you tried to teach me,
You hoped that because of this, a better life I would lead.

You are my loving mother.

So deeply for you, I will always care.

Now I see you with growing children of your own,
You are so busy we can hardly talk on the phone.
Makes me remember the old days all too clear.
In your children, the voices of the past I hear.
